WELCOME TO JAPAN!
All travelers will be picked up at Nagasaki airport and taken to Nagasaki main train station, in whose main structure we will check in at JR Kyushu Hotel Nagasaki
or similar. Then you will enjoy free time to take a first glimpse of the city and explore the surroundings. It is also possible to exchange foreign currency at this hotel.
ATOMIC BOMBING AND GHOST
Following breakfast, we will take a ferry to the ghost island of
Bond's Skyfall was inspired on this island when it was filmed. Right after this tour, we will visit the
Nagasaki Peace Park and the hypocenter of the atomic bombing.
We will try to sweeten the bitterness left by the visit to the Museum of the atomic bomb with a stopover at the
Sofukuji Temple and the Kazagashira Park, absolutely beautiful when the sakura trees are blooming.
We will visit the
Yoshinogari Archaeological Park in
the morning to discover how ancient Japanese people
used to carry out
ceremonies, dress, cook and live.
Then, we will head to the wonderful
Shrine, one of the 3 most important inari shrines of
Japan before checking in at Kumamoto New Otani Hotel
THE HEART OF THE ISLAND
A private transport will take us to the amazing
Takachiho Gorge. There is no better way to start a
day in Kyushu island. Even though you will hate to
leave such a charming place, we have to move forward
to the nearby
Takachiho Shrine, preceding the
Kamishikimi Kumanoimasu Jinja and
'power spot'. If that was not incredible enough, Laputa Road will definitely blow your mind,
especially in a cloudy day. At this point you will
feel really lucky to have joined this adventure!
To help you relax after so many experiences in a
single day, you will relax at Kurokawa Onsen, where
you will spend the night at a wonderful ryokan with
a hot spring attached.
This is a free day at Kurokawa Onsen that you may
spend trying different natural hot springs in the
area, organizing the pictures of your journey or
writing your travel journal. De-stress and let your
worries melt away!
After breakfast we will go to the
lake Miike and spend a tranquil morning surrounded by the nature. Close by we will visit the
Shrine, from where we will enjoy a nice view of the lake and the nearby mountains.
Kyushu hides another natural gem well-kept from tourists that we will appreciate: the
Ogawa falls. After the pleasant view and sound of the tranquil waters of Ogawa, we will check in at Solaria Nishitetsu Hotel or similar in Kagoshima.
Following breakfast we will make a little outing to Ibusuki
to enjoy a bath of
hot volcanic sand. Once you have renewed yourself with the therapeutic properties of the hot sand, we will visit the
samurai residences of Chiran. In this enjoyable historic walk offers visit to well preserved houses and gardens
built over 250 years ago. Not far from this town we will have the chance to take a look at the only museum dedicated to the Japanese
kamikaze during the World War II, the Chiran Tokko Museum.
Back to Kagoshima, we will relax at the Sengan-en Garden, from where you and your travel mates may enjoy a
wonderful view of Sakurajima island and its volcano.
After breakfast we will take a ferry to
a UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site. Upon checking in at Seaside Hotel Yakushima or similar, we will start exploring the island.
Following a relaxing stopover at Inaka-hama, Isso and Kurio beaches, we will complete an outstanding day at
Hirauchi Ocean Hot Springs.
We will spend the day walking around
Yakusugi Land, the ancient cedar forest. On our way back, you will have some spare time to purchase
handcrafts made of local wood. Do not miss this opportunity because Chinese products are flooding Japan to the detriment of its traditional wood artisans.
SHIRATANI UNSUIKYO VALLEY
valley has three courses. Ask your guide and pick the best one to walk in and spend the day
discovering a natural wonder unlike anywhere else. If you feel enough
kamikaze to trek across two paths instead of one, talk to your fellow travel mates and see if their remaining energy is sufficient to do so. Your guide is always eager to keep going!
We will take a quick flight to Fukuoka (1h) and check in at Hotel Centraza
Hakata or similar. Then you will be given the option
to explore Fukuoka, to visit the reclining
Buddha statue at Nanzoin temple
or to visit its neighbor Dazaifu, popular for its temples, shrines and ruins. Fukuoka, on the other side, is the largest city of this trip and will allow us to carry out activities that we couldn't while we were surrounded by nature and wild creatures.
FREE DAY AND BACK HOME
Visit one of the seven museums of the city, take your time to do last minute shopping or enjoy the famous green areas of the urban area, perfect to have an open air picnic.
This day is at your disposal before heading to the airport
to take your flight back home. We hope you have enjoyed these Southern Wonders and you again soon!
